Dave Crockett – Professional Voice Actor & On-Camera Talent
Where Voice Meets Presence.
Dave Crockett brings a lifetime of craft to every role, a rugged, cinematic presence grounded by a warm sense of humor and an unshowy professionalism that directors and casts trust.
Born in Baltimore and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Dave’s path into acting didn’t begin on stage, but in conversation. Too shy to audition in high school, he spent hours talking about character and motivation with drama teacher Bill Burgess. Those early exchanges shaped his instinct for listening and his focus on small, truthful choices—foundations that still define his work today.
Dave is drawn to characters who lack self-awareness, exploring the private contradictions people don’t see in themselves and letting those moments quietly reveal who they are.
His career grew out of major-market radio, where he earned his place in Atlanta, Chicago, and Houston, holding his own in the battle for ratings. After radio, he built a career spanning more than two and a half decades as a professional voice actor, recording national campaigns for brands including Oscar Mayer, Dish Network, and Verizon. At the same time, he built and operated the respected Weho Audio Studios, developing a technical fluency and work ethic he carries into every project. Meticulous preparation, professionalism on set, and fast, reliable delivery.
On camera, Dave delivers lived-in performances without fuss. In Mattress Mack (2026), he earned the immediate trust of director Shane Andries and actor Billy Magnussen. First, by having hair & makeup give him a “comb over” that brought an appropriate dullness to his character. And secondly, by grounding a tense, scripted financial confrontation for Mack and his accountant with subtle instinct and restrained improvisation. In Friday Night Lights (Season 2), acting opposite Kyle Chandler, Dave loudly and bluntly told his team, as they were getting off the team bus, his improvised the line, “Come on! Friday night is what football is all about in Texas.” He gave it just enough edge to land as a deliberate jab—earning praise from producer/director Michael Waxman and later placement in NBC promos and episode teasers. It’s a clear example of the kind of small, truthful moments he brings to every role.
Colleagues describe Dave as generous, grounded, and quietly funny. An actor who takes direction without ego and steadies the room when the pressure is on.
Represented by Shawn West at The Wayne Agency, Dave Crockett is a professional voice actor and on-camera talent known for elevating scenes through listening, instinct, and authenticity—bringing depth, humanity, and lived-in truth to every performance.
William “Bill” Burgess - IN memorium
Bill Burgess was more than a high school drama teacher. He was a former actor with the kind of presence that lingered long after he left the stage. To his students, he was both a stern taskmaster and a deeply committed mentor, someone who believed that performance wasn’t about ego, but about discipline, truth, and showing up fully. His mantra, “Spit and Sweat,” wasn’t just about effort. It was a philosophy. He demanded physical commitment, emotional honesty, and the kind of work ethic that separated those who wanted it from those who earned it.
Though his own time in the spotlight had passed, Burgess poured that experience into the next generation, shaping young actors not just to perform, but to lead with intention, with resilience, and with respect for the craft. Even in retirement, he remained devoted to his students and his community, continuing his work through the Sahuaro Cougar Foundation. When he passed in 2013, he asked that donations be made to support student scholarships. A final gesture from a man who had spent his life giving others their first shot at the stage.
For those who learned under him, Bill Burgess wasn’t just a teacher. He was a standard.
